"You interact both with other peers and with the speakers who share their experiences and help you apply them to your daily routine."
How was your experience with the Leadership Academy?
It was an interesting and, above all, formative experience because we covered various aspects, some of which I was already familiar with and others less so. I gained valuable insights, especially regarding how to handle certain situations. For example, I wasn’t someone who gave much feedback, but the executives emphasized this concept repeatedly, and it has been very helpful in my daily interactions with colleagues and superiors.
What did you think of the training approach?
The approach is very in-depth, and it’s dynamic – you don’t get bored! You interact both with your peers and with the speakers, who share their experiences and help you apply them to your daily routine. They manage to make even unfamiliar topics “come alive” within your own context. I found this approach very interesting, both with the slides for taking notes and with the recordings and the opportunity to ask questions directly. All of this is reinforced by an hour of peer sessions, which is interesting, dynamic, and strengthens the concepts through interaction with the coach and other peers.
What do you think of the executives involved?
The speakers were all very, very good. Even the last one, who spoke about the Dunning-Kruger effect, which I knew little about, was very useful. They shared many examples and explained where this bias comes from and how to deal with it. Thinking about it, it’s actually quite common to be affected by the Dunning-Kruger bias! It’s happened to me as well, and a course like this helped me understand the mistakes I make every day and how to improve.
How were the exercises with other participants?
In the breakout rooms, I got along great with the people. From my side, I noticed that no one played the “actor.” Everyone presented their own challenges, and the exercise helped apply the executive’s teaching to real situations. This was definitely a strong point of the course because in some other courses I’ve taken, this practical aspect was missing, but it’s actually crucial because it helps you have those “aha moments” and apply the examples to your work environment.
Katia did a great job summarizing the previous session because she covered all the points in different words. The peer session was very formative; the exercise was different but still helped bring the practical aspect of the session a few days earlier into our daily routine.
